What changes visually
At an appropriate screen size and viewing distance, 1440p can provide finer detail and more desktop space. Interface scaling and panel quality also affect the experience.
Performance impact
Rendering more pixels generally increases GPU load. The actual change depends on the game, graphics settings, upscaling, CPU limits, and GPU.
